About Us

 Our mission here at Apple Tree Academy of Paxton is to enrich the minds of our youngest learners. We believe children learn best through the many opportunities play allows for them. Our goal is to contribute to the well-being of each individual child in all developmental areas of learning.

Apple Tree Academy of Paxton is a half-day private preschool offering a hands-on, fun, and exciting approach to learning in the early childhood years.  This program is offered daily Monday-Friday from 9 am to 12 pm. We accept children from ages 2 years 9 months to age 5. Apple Tree Academy of Paxton is a play-based preschool that follows a thematic-based curriculum and the Massachusetts Frameworks for preschool.   

My name is Kim Hewins and I am the owner of Apple Tree Academy of Paxton.  My passion has always been early childhood education.  I have a degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education, as well as a Masters in Education.  After many years of being a stay-at-home mom to my four children, I decided to continue to pursue my dream and open my own preschool.  To me, there is no greater reward in life than being a part of a child's growth and development.
